SR Stainless Steel Planetary Gearboxes

SR precision planetary gearboxes are integrally made of stainless steel because only stainless steel is able to withstand highly corrosive environments. Stainless steel SR precision planetary gearboxes are used in the following industries:

These industries require a very high level of hygiene. The machines are cleaned frecuently using high pressure washing with hot water, caustic agents, aggressive cleaners and disinfectants. Corrosion can occur in areas with poor chemical resistance, creating flaking and possible contamination. As a result, special care must be taken to protect the gearboxes.

Unlike conventional drive surfaces, that use protective coatings to prevent carter corrosion, Servotak SR gear units, present smooth, polished metal surfaces that do not corrode. They are easy to clean and prevent bacteria, germs and dirt built-ups. Moreover,  detergents drain off easily, allowing the drives to dry quickly.

Even the lubricants have been specially designed for use in food-plant applications. Oils and lubricants are rated as food-grade under USDA H1 and pose no health risks in the event of accidental contact with foods. Synthetic lubricant can be installed for other industrial applications.
